ABOUT PEE WEE DIVISION
Ages: 9-11 75-120 lbs
Age: 12 (Older/Lighter) 75-100 lbs
 
Age Cut-Off Date: July 31st
 
In this division competitive football and cheer is in full swing, combine with more speed and harder hitting. In this division players excel in coordination, self confidence and the desire to compete and advance to the next level. All teams have one thing in mind....CHAMPIONSHIP. Practices, games and competitions are taken to a new level along with coaching and team work.

 

Cheer competition in this division usually consist of skilled and large squads are for this type of competition.
 
PEE WEE PRACTICE

Teams are allowed to start practice no sooner than August 1st.

 

Practices are limited to 2 1/2 hours in duration, and are limited to 10hrs a week (typically 5 days a week) before Labor Day.

 

Practices change to three 2 hour sessions per week (6hrs per week) after Labor Day and for the rest of the season.

 

First game of the season typical starts on or before Labor Day weekend.

 
PEE WEE BASIC RULES

Some of key points about this division:

  • -Speed is at a new level.
  • -Coaching and team work is highly important.
  • -Playoffs and Post-season Travel Allowed.
  • -Different size ball from lower divisions
  • -More skilled position players
  • -6-10 minimum total plays for each player (depends on size of team)
 
EQUIPMENT

Lakewood Pop Warner provides each team with footballs, pads, helmet, game and practice pants and numbered game jerseys (players keep their jersey).

 

Participants provide their own cleats, athletic supporter and mouthpiece.

 

All participants must have a physical for the current year before being allowed to practice or play a game.
